Four Star Rating for Clare Glen Caravan Park

Clare Glen Caravan Park re-opened for business again on 21st April 2011 after a four month refurbishment programme costing £153,000.00. £108,000.00 of funding secured from the Northern Ireland Rural Development Programme 2007-2013 under Axes 3&4, Quality of Life Measures, greatly assisted Armagh City and District Council with the delivery of this particular project. On completion of the work in March of this year the Caravan Park was awarded Four Star rating as part of the Northern Ireland Tourist Boards accredited Star Quality Grading Scheme.

The new look Caravan Park, has been considerably upgraded with major improvements to the Caravan Park by way of new field drainage, fencing and the introduction of a new access control system to the main gates. Further complementing these developments is the new state of the art toilet block at the Clare/Markethill end of the Glen. This facility will prove beneficial to the thousands of people who visit the 55 acre Glen each year for walking, running or cycling.

The success of the site to date reflects the Council’s continued vision of investing and exploring funding opportunities in order to provide and maintain top quality facilities which attract both local and national visitors to the Armagh council area.
